Petition

If the Writ of Actual Innocence is denied, Dusty will not be granted an opportunity to petition the Governor until December 2009. Under Virginia law, Dusty can be released from prison by receiving a pardon from the governor at that time. If that time should come, we want to collect as many signatures as possible to help influence Governor Timothy M. Dear Governor Kaine:

I encourage you to pardon Dustin A. Turner.  Dustin did not commit the crime for which he is serving 82 years in prison.  Billy Joe Brown has been convicted of that crime and has since confessed.  Dustin has been unjustly imprisoned. We request that you grant clemency to Dustin Turner immediately.
